Mother & Child Health & Nutrition Project

OCS is proud to support ANNADA’s Mother & Child Health & Nutrition Project, aimed at creating a hunger-free and properly nourished India. The collaborative CSR initiative focuses on combatting malnutrition among young children in the Rajguru Nagar (Khed) Taluka of Pune district, Maharashtra, India. ANNADA, a Not For Profit organization based in India, is dedicated to catalyzing the Sustainable Development Goal of Zero Hunger. Through innovative food solutions, community integration, collaborations, and technology engagement, ANNADA delivers high-impact, sustainable health and nutrition programs.

Project details

Project overview
  • Impact: Over 190,000 beneficiaries served, with more than 19 million meals distributed across 6 states in India.
  • Objective: To combat malnutrition in young children at critical developmental ages, enabling a brighter future for them and the nation.
  • Achievement: Reduced child malnutrition by over 50% across project sites.

Location
The Mother & Child Health & Nutrition Project was initiated in January 2023 across 9 Anganwadi Centers in Pait Bit of Rajguru Nagar (Khed) Taluka, Pune district. The project, conducted in collaboration with the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) and Pune district administration, has shown promising progress and has been extended till March 2024 with the support of OCS.

Goals & objectives:
  • Improve mothers’ and children’s health & nutrition indicators in Pait Bit of ICDS Khed-2 project, Rajgurunagar Taluka, Pune district.
  • Create awareness and promote the adoption of health-seeking behaviors.
  • Ensure timely identification and referral of high-risk cases of mothers & children in collaboration with health workers and social health activists.
