About the Job
OCS Services is looking for an experienced Specialist – Instrument & Controls to provide technical leadership and support for Instrumentation, Control Systems, and BH Equipment across the Ruby FPSO and other global projects. This role will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, maintenance, and continuous improvement of critical control systems and rotating equipment while supporting safe and efficient operations. The position focuses on equipment reliability, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, maintenance planning, technical problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives to maximize asset availability and operational efficiency.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Specialist – Instrument & Controls to support the operation and maintenance of critical Instrumentation, Control Systems, and BH Equipment. This role will work closely with offshore teams, clients, OEMs, and engineering specialists to ensure equipment reliability, system integrity, and operational excellence.
What You Will Do
In this role, you will:

Instrumentation & Control Systems Management
- Lead Instrumentation and Control Systems activities for Ruby FPSO and support other global projects.
- Ensure reliable operation and optimal performance of DCS, PLC, SCADA, and associated control systems.
- Monitor equipment performance and system health to identify potential issues and improvement opportunities.
- Maintain control system documentation, software backups, and hardware configurations.
- Equipment Performance & Troubleshooting
- Monitor BH equipment and rotating equipment performance and coordinate troubleshooting activities.
- Work closely with Electrical & Instrumentation teams, Clients, OEMs, and BH representatives to resolve technical issues.
- Analyze equipment failures and performance trends to improve system reliability and availability.
- Provide technical guidance and support during maintenance, shutdown, and commissioning activities.
- Reliability & Continuous Improvement
- Implement reliability improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reduce downtime.
- Initiate and lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities for equipment failures and operational incidents.
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurring issues.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis and performance monitoring.
- Maintenance & Spare Parts Management
- Coordinate preventive maintenance activities to ensure timely completion. • Work closely with onshore support teams for maintenance planning and spare parts management.
- Ensure critical spares are identified, stocked, and available to support operational requirements.
- Support maintenance strategy development and lifecycle asset management initiatives.
- Technical Coordination & Change Management
- Raise and manage technical queries related to instrumentation, control systems, and BH equipment.
- Coordinate with Clients, OEMs, and BH specialists to resolve pending technical issues.
- Lead Management of Change (MoC) processes related to control systems and instrumentation upgrades.
- Support system modifications, upgrades, and technology improvement projects.
- Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of equipment performance, maintenance activities, and system changes.
- Coordinate software and hardware updates for control systems and associated equipment.
- Prepare regular technical reports highlighting equipment performance, reliability metrics, and key operational parameters.
- Ensure all engineering and maintenance documentation remains current and compliant.
What We Are Looking For
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech).
- Additional certifications in Control Systems, Reliability Engineering, or Asset Management will be an advantage.
Experience
- 10 to 20 years of experience in Oil & Gas, Offshore, FPSO, Petrochemical, Refinery, or Process Industry environments.
- Strong experience with BH Equipment and Rotating Equipment. • Experience supporting offshore production facilities and critical process equipment.
- Experience supporting offshore production facilities and critical process

- Proven track record in troubleshooting, reliability improvement, and maintenance
optimization.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of DCS, PLC, SCADA, Instrumentation, and Industrial Control Systems.
- Experience with BH equipment and associated control philosophies.
- Understanding of rotating equipment monitoring and performance analysis.
- Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Reliability Engineering, and Management of Change (MoC) processes.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance planning and spare parts management.
- Strong understanding of offshore safety systems and operational requirements
Interpersonal Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with offshore teams, clients, OEMs, and technical specialists.
